‘Fall seven times, get up eight’. That’s a proverb psychologist (provisional) Blanche Beazley learned during her time living in Japan. It’s remained a daily mantra, reminding her of resilience and strength.

“There is potential for everyone to grow and to live a rich and meaningful life,” she says.

Working in her home city of Toowoomba, Blanche has a calming quality – or is it ‘zen’? – and an easy ability to build trusting relationships.

Blanche is available to work with children and adults with disability supporting emotional and mental health, undertaking psychological assessments and delivering therapeutic interventions.

As well as developing behavioural support plans, Blanche can help clients work through anxieties, stress, grief, depression, and other emotional issues, and develop coping strategies, social skills, or conflict resolution techniques.

Blanche worked at the NDIA just before joining Therapy Pro. That gives her, in a  sense, ‘insider’ knowledge of how the NDIS works for clients’ benefit, understanding the assessment process better than many, and what supports can and cannot be delivered.

Toowoomba is a culturally diverse city and Blanche is keen to support people adjusting to their relocation in Australia: “I recall how I felt as a minority in a land with different ways and different language.”

Blanche is completing her Master of Clinical Psychology training at the University of Southern Queensland.
