Occupational Therapist

Toowoomba

  • Works with adults
  • Works with children

She has particular expertise in supporting children and adults with physically complex disabilities, such as progressive neuromuscular conditions and spinal injuries, and a soft spot for teens wanting support in preparation for their post-school lives.

“Every day I’m challenged to think and learn as I seek options for clients to better meet their needs—it’s part of what makes occupational therapy such a meaningful occupation. It’s a privilege to listen and learn from people with lived experience of disability,” Cherie says.

“While I’ve spent time in management strategising, I prefer the nuts and bolts of making things work well or better.”

Cherie works with children, teenagers and adults, helping to improve daily living activities—from personal hygiene to eating, socialising and community access—through assessment and appropriately tailored intervention.

After years away, working in Brisbane, interstate and overseas, Cherie has ‘come home’ to the city of her birth, excited to settle back with her own children.

When not delivering therapy or doing all that parents do (and when seeking time out from her Masters in Rehabilitation studies), Cherie finds inspiration in Toowoomba’s art galleries, craft hubs and parks.
