Therapy Pro psychologist (provisional) Danielle Fahmi has packed a lot of practical experience into her early career years.

Her university studies provided rich and varied experiences, for example assisting in a parenting program project to help parents see the signs and know how to effectively support children and teens experiencing anxiety and depression; talking with both parents and children.

Her honours research explored suggestion-induced false memories in people with post-traumatic stress disorder and depression.

Danielle has also been a non-judgmental voice at the end of the phone of an anxiety helpline, having conversations with callers about strategies to help overcome their sense of overwhelm.

“I give people space to talk freely about what is on their minds, and to encourage them to feel good – better — about themselves,” she says.

As a psychologist (provisional) with Therapy Pro’s Melbourne team, Danielle is available to work with children, teenagers and adults with disability who seek help for mental and emotional health issues.

Danielle Fahmi can conduct psychological assessments, develop behavioural support plans, and deal with presentations including anxiety, stress, depression, grief, and other emotional regulation issues, speaking English or Arabic.

Her ideal way of relaxing is to go for a long beach walk – even better, if it’s dog friendly.

Danielle is a 2020 Monash University graduate.
