It would be unusual to find Therapy Pro’s Fraser Coote sitting alone in the bleachers.

He’s one of those people who others connect with and want to talk to (while chomping on a potato chip if it’s half-time at sporting event). And not just about the game or the score but about life.

“I’ve seen how easy it is for psychological struggles to be masked by other things,” he says, reflecting on his encounters with physical disabilities that threatened to impact his quality of life.

“If I can help others live the life they want to live, by talking through and exploring issues and concerns, I’ll be living a good life.”

That ease of connection is a great attribute in a psychologist. He was – and is – also fascinated by the ‘mind’ and its workings, as distinct from all things physical.

As a psychologist (provisional), Fraser helps child, teen and adult clients with psychological assessments and interventions, develop behavioural support plans and deal with presentations including anxiety, stress, depression, trauma, grief and other emotional regulation issues.

Throughout his studies, Fraser worked as a junior coach with Touch Rugby League Australia, interacting with children from 5 to 11, of all abilities.

Gen Z and a technology native, Fraser lives and breathes sport (particularly any sport that requires a ball) and is on a global quest to find the best way to cook potato—or banana.

Fraser is a University of Queensland graduate.
