Psychologist Gracie McMurtrie helps children, teenagers and adults ride the waves of life’s challenges.

She brings to the Therapy Pro team, experience dealing with a range of mental health and neurological issues from anxiety, depression, stress, trauma and PTSD to autism spectrum disorder and ADHD.

“’Stuff’ happens in life and everyone has their stuff. Recognising that is like recognising that you can’t stop waves on the ocean, but you can learn to ride them,” Gracie, a keen surfer, says.

“Some people need more help dealing with their stuff than others. It’s a privilege to be able to nudge those I work with towards getting what they want in life, how they want it.”

Gracie can help Therapy Pro clients and their families with issues including behaviour management and social skills development. She’ll challenge unhelpful thought patterns and can help parents with effective strategies.

Gracie can undertake cognitive and psychological assessments and develop treatment plans tailored to the individual’s needs drawing on her experience and training in cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) and a range of other therapeutic interventions.

Formerly an accountant, Gracie made her career change through Monash University.
