Therapy Pro social worker Jade Wallace credits cracking jigsaw puzzles as sharpening her professional abilities.

“Jigsaw encourage you to test hypotheses, look at different perspectives and get both sides of your brain working together – the logical, objective and methodical left and the intuitive, creative right,” she says.

“In working with a client, I look at the whole person — you’re so much more than simply a diagnosis! – listen to what you want to achieve and see what’s standing in the way of those goals being met.”

Jade Wallace has worked in the human services sector since 2009.

While previous roles as a youth worker, disability support worker and mental health case worker all lead to her becoming a social worker, her passion for fighting for others’ rights goes way back.

“I have the lived experience of family members with disability and mental illness,” Jade says. “I’ve seen how everyday activities that many of us take for granted can be very real challenges.

Jade supports Therapy Pro child, adolescent and adult clients overcome personal difficulties and structural barriers so that they experience inclusion, involvement and independence in home, school, work and community life.

As a former support coordinator, Jade brings in-depth knowledge of how the NDIS works and how to navigate it.

Jade is a QUT social work graduate.
