With almost 10 years’ experience working on the Sunshine Coast, we consider social worker Jared Widdison ‘well connected’: he’s worked hard at networking and liaising in community, building a network of contacts he can reliably tap into.
His ‘who’s who’ knowledge is gold when supporting child, adolescent and adult Therapy Pro clients seeking greater inclusion, involvement and independence in home, school, work, and community life.
Prior experience – as both a social worker in a hospital and in community, and as a healthcare consumer – has made Jared very aware of the need for timely, appropriate services.
Lived experience with mental health challenges prompted his career choice.
“I’m the glue that keeps the multidisciplinary teams –different therapists and services you need – together and who plugs any gaps so that you’re supported in a way you need,” Jared says.
Jared also provides counselling and positive behaviour interventions and is an experienced advocate for clients’ rights and needs.
