This goal is, in part, payback, gratitude for the work of therapists who helped him back to health and wellbeing after a road accident in his teens.

“When you get to know an OT, you realise how vital your life can be.”

OTs are daily life specialists who support clients of all ages to improve their daily living functions—bathing, toileting, dressing, eating, walking—as well as school, workplace and community involvement.

Lewis is experienced in motor planning and sensory processing, self-regulation, functional skills, handwriting and standardised assessments.

He also can help clients with aids and equipment assessments and may make recommendations for minor modifications at home to improve independence and safety.

“I’m keen to help clients be as active as they can and want to be,” says Lewis.

“Being active doesn’t mean running marathons: it can be the ability to sit in a proper position or being able to move around the house, safely and independently.”

Lewis brings to his clients home and community clinic-based experience working with adults and children with physical, mental and neurological disabilities well as hands-on time as a disability support worker.

His work style is smart, focused and physical, a reflection of his Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practice.

Lewis holds a master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from Swinburne University of Technology.
