Big outcomes are the build-up of lots of mini-wins: that’s the approach for success that Melbourne Therapy Pro occupational therapist Minni Griggs encourages her clients to adopt every day in building stepping stones towards meaningful everyday living goals.

“Looking at the end goal can be overwhelming, like climbing Mount Everest and only acknowledging the final summit. Recognising the actions that need to be taken to get there, and celebrating them along the way, keeps us going,” Minni says.

Minni’s passion for working with others to achieve practical everyday skills of life was inspired as a therapy assistant in a clinic supporting people with acquired brain injuries.

Now as an occupational therapist, Minni works with child, adolescent, and adult clients with disabilities who want to gain more independence, safely, in their everyday activities.

Minni has particular experience working with clients with acquired brain injury, intellectual disability, autism, or developmental delays.

As well as daily living skill assessments, Minni can undertake functional mobility assessments and cognitive assessments, prescribe aids and equipment, and make home modification recommendations.

She’s excited by technological developments — “the right aids and equipment can make big differences” – and particularly enjoys seeing technology’s place in helping clients achieve their social goals.

Minni holds a master’s degree in occupational therapy practice at La Trobe University.
