There is nothing ‘textbook’ about Therapy Pro Psychologist (provisional) Mira Coss.

She’s a practical, down-to-earth person who has embraced lessons from life—good and not so great—and is the first to acknowledge that there is no such thing as ‘one size fits all’ when it comes to how people feel.

What is common among all, she says, is the need for dignity and understanding.

As a family counsellor prior to joining Therapy Pro, Mira successfully connected with clients who experienced intellectual challenges and clients who were non-verbal.

“Cognitive behaviour tools, for example, are well proven yet need to be tweaked to suit an individual’s abilities and needs,” Mira explains.

Mira has lived and worked abroad – including the Middle East and Europe—and is keen to support clients from diverse cultures and sub-cultures.

Becoming a psychologist was a career change. She had worked in human resources for many years and was always interested in people’s wellbeing.

“I took a gamble to change careers to something I really enjoyed, and I can say that waking up every morning, I’m rewarded by what I do,” Mira says.

Mira provides psychological assessments and interventions for children and adults and can particularly help you with emotional regulation, stress management, behavioural management, and coping strategies. If you’re feeling anxious, depressed, frustrated, or angry about an aspect of your life, Mira may be able to help.

She’s particularly experienced in supporting people who have experienced depression or trauma, and people fighting addiction.
Mira also brings with a personal understanding of living with disability as seen through the eyes of a parent.

Mira gained her psychology degree at the University of Southern Queensland and is now working on her Masters.
