Nikki is an experienced Occupational Therapist who has worked extensively in community settings and is passionate about supporting people to live their best lives. Nikki has worked with a diverse range of people and situations including, Mental Health, Aged Care, NDIS, Early Childhood, and Behaviour Support.

One of Nikki’s favorite quotes is “Medicine adds days to life, Occupational Therapy adds life to days.”

How can you support people?

I believe in getting to know people and walking alongside them, empowering them to achieve their goals.  I can support people to build new skills, change their environment, or adapt tasks to make them more achievable. Regardless of the approach, I do my best to support people to live a more independent and fulfilled life.

How does your background shape the way you work?

I have worked with a diverse range of people and situations including, Mental Health, Aged Care, NDIS, Early Childhood, and Behaviour Support.  Each area has brought a different set of knowledge and skills that inform my practice today, supporting me to approach each situation in a wholistic way. I understand that each person is unique and strive to provide tailored supports to fit each situation.

What is your approach to working with people?

I try to work collaboratively with everyone involved; that may include formal and/or informal supports.  I believe that working collaboratively is important for providing the best possible support and getting the best outcomes.

I like to think outside the box, thinking of creative solutions to problems that arise, and providing people with information and options so they may choose what is right for them.  I enjoy celebrating people’s strengths and achievements, whether it is big or small.
