Pooja Yeligala has worked as an occupational therapy professional in Australia and India since 2016.
She loves that her field of work is diverse – working with all ages and cultures.
At Therapy Pro, we want our occupational therapy clients to achieve great independence, safely, but what that means is different for everyone.
“Maybe you want to brush your teeth without help or go shopping alone or make a friend. They are different goals but they are each about having the control to do what is meaningful and important to you,” Pooja observes.
Pooja works with child, teen and adult clients needing cognitive assessments, functional capacity assessments and assessments of daily living – from helping clients from bathing, dressing, toileting or eating through to community access and leisure activities.
Pooja has particular experience in assessing sensory preferences.
She develops individualised goal-oriented therapeutic interventions that are delivered one-on-one or online, and coaches family members for added support.
She can prescribe technology, aids or equipment to help with daily living activities.
Pooja can carry out assessments and deliver therapy in English, Hindi, Telugu or Tamil.
Pooja studied occupational therapy in New Zealand and is a graduate of Auckland University of Technology.
