There was a time when Reeva Ashton felt the best way that she could help others feel ‘better’ was through music.

Then, the former musician and entertainment coordinator commenced psychology studies.

“The creativity that’s a part of song writing taught me about looking at other perspectives for solutions. I use that skill to problem solve say, behavioural management or emotion regulation strategies, to collaborate on a treatment plan that works for everyone involved,” Reeva explains.

This psychologist (provisional) offers experience working with children and teens who have neurodevelopmental disorders—particularly autism spectrum disorder (ASD), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and intellectual disabilities—and their family members.

As part of the Therapy Pro Melbourne team, Reeva is available to work with clients of all ages who want to address emotional and mental health challenges.

She can carry out psychological assessments, develop behavioural support plans and deliver therapeutic psychological interventions in order to help clients develop coping strategies, social skills, assertiveness skills, work through their anxieties, address low mood, and manage stress.

She has a particular interest in anxiety and depression and is skilled in relaxation and mindfulness techniques.

Reeva graduated from the University of Melbourne in 2019.
