How can you support people?

Claire has a special interest in working with children requiring support in the areas of speech, literacy and stuttering. Claire works with toddlers up to 12 years of age and is able to support assessment and therapeutic intervention for speech, language, literacy, fluency and social skills.

How does your background shape the way you work?

Claire is a paediatric specialist who has worked with children for her entire speech pathology career. Claire has worked for the Department of Education and within private practice in both clinic-based and mobile settings. Claire loves the opportunities she has to engage with families in their home environments and believes delivering therapy in these natural settings helps her clients and families get the most out of their sessions.
Claire is trained in a number of evidence-based programs, including More Than Words, Sounds Write and the Lidcombe Program.

What is your approach to working with people?

Claire takes a child-centred and family-led approach to her sessions. Claire believes the most important people in a child’s therapy journey are the child and their caregivers. Therefore, there is nothing more important than gaining their trust and engagement and supporting their empowerment.
