Phillip Laidlaw, Managing Director

Meet Phil, our Managing Director. A thought-leader within the disability sector, Phil is dedicated to bringing out the best in healthcare leaders. With over 20 years of hands-on experience, his approach is rooted in the holistic principles of occupational therapy, an extensive consulting and learning development experience and a lengthy executive career spent nurturing and developing talent.

I have always been fascinated by potential and transformation – both for individuals and organisations. Therapy Pro has been a great journey of growth through challenge, all of it based in an action learning approach. We have put some pretty ambitious ideas on culture and leadership to the test, and honed them over time - both internally and through our work with other organisations. I am very motivated to share what we have learned, and how I see leadership, culture and change.

Janine is our Director of Coaching here at Therapy Pro. Her coaching philosophy is rooted in the belief that each person is unique, with their own set of layers that make up their identity. Like the layers of an onion, these aspects include beliefs, fears, opinions, and ideas about what brings happiness. However, these layers can pile up and bury our core selves, distorting our perception of reality and leaving us feeling stuck. Janine's goal as a coach is to guide individuals in peeling back these layers, allowing them to rediscover their true selves and enhance their self-acceptance and personal effectiveness. Through this process of self-discovery, clients gain a greater understanding of who they are and begin to value their own strengths and abilities.

I have a deep passion for coaching and helping individuals discover their authentic selves. This program is a journey of discovery, growth, and transformation, designed to equip aspiring leaders with the skills and insights necessary to excel in any role they undertake.

This program helps to shape the future of healthcare leadership within your organisation, where every emerging leader is empowered to make a significant difference.

Comprehensive Learning

Through four half day sessions across a year, this program covers communicating with influence, strategic thinking, team dynamics, commerciality, leading through change, leadership conversations, coaching approaches in leadership understanding leadership styles, seeing people in data, and personal leadership identity, purpose and growth.

Career Development

This program provides opportunities for participants to explore and apply leadership principles in their current roles and supports their ongoing career development. The emphasis is on “leading in any role” rather than exclusively grooming participants for higher roles.


Aspiring leaders, emerging “stars” deserving recognition, “high retention risk” individuals seeking opportunities and progression. In addition to developing employees, this course improves culture by reducing distance between operational and leadership groups in organisations.

Leadership Workshops

The Leadership Workshops at Therapy Pro are designed to address core leadership aspects, providing leaders with the tools and insights needed to excel within their roles.

Our workshops offer a unique blend of practical assessments, personal coaching, and actionable strategies, tailored to enhance your leadership skills in key areas. 

From understanding and leveraging your behavioral style for better team dynamics to improving emotional intelligence for effective decision-making, each workshop is an opportunity to grow and refine your leadership capabilities.

During this 3.5 hour workshop, leaders will undertake a DiSC advanced behavioural assessment to measure their preferred behavioural and communication style.

The tool is based around the four behavioural styles of dominance, influence, steadiness, and conscientiousness.

Participants are supported to understand their preferred style, learn how to share their preferences with teammates and investigate how they can adjust their approach to connect and work more effectively with others.

Price: $400/attendee: minimum 8

Comprised of an assessment, report, and two one-on-one sessions, this package uses EQi-2.0, an emotional intelligence (EQ) assessment tool to measure an individual’s ability to identify, understand, and manage their own emotions.

The tool is based on the five EQ dimensions of self-perception, self-expression, interpersonal relationships, decision making and stress management.

During the course of the sessions, leaders will be walked through their individualised report and coached on next steps to improve their EQ.

As a result of this workshop, participants often experience improvements in their self-awareness, communication, leadership, and conflict resolution.

Price: $950 per individual, no minimum limit. ​

This 3.5 hour workshop is designed to support leaders and operational staff to have the conversations needed to drive performance and create harmony.

During the workshop, leaders will:

  • Tap into their sense of purpose and mission by exploring how brave and helpful conversations benefit both parties
  • Be introduced to a practical toolkit that can be used in preparing for, undertaking and reflecting on their conversations
  • Apply their toolkit to a practical example from their work to embed learning.

Price: $300/attendee: minimum 8 ​
