“I also respect how vulnerable a person can feel in seeking help. Mental health wasn’t something to be talked about in the traditional city in China that I grew up in. It was almost taboo. Yet I saw it, acknowledged it and wanted to help people. That is why I seek to provide an unconditional positive safe space.”

Sophia can help child, teen and adult clients with psychological assessments and interventions, develop positive behavioural support plans, and deal with presentations including anxiety, stress, depression, trauma, grief, and other emotional regulation issues.
Sophia credits her former role as a disability support worker as an invaluable to her professional development.
“I learned to listen to what was really being said, not to assume or just hear the words. I gained a deep appreciation of the impact that surroundings and relationships have on our thinking and behaviours.”
